2011 Forecast: Sunshine and Rainbows
It humors me when I see single people on Facebook complain about their day when I know people (myself included) that have multiple children, working multiple jobs, and going to college at night.
That being said… looks like this year is going to be good. I’ve been generating a few ideas in the entrepreneurial spirit and can’t wait to get started on them. I’ve only got 2, yes 2, classes left for my MBA so that will free up my time horizon to spend on my personal business (shameless plug I know, but what are blogs for amiright?) and it has a few projects lined up. So here’s to 2011! CHEERS.
Dusty
Wow this place still exists, well it’s a new year so maybe I should breath some life into this again?
New hobby
Well I’ve been trying to slip piano lessons(self-taught) into my busy schedule. I’m picking it up pretty fast. Once I learned the notes of the keys and the notes on sheet music I was able to pair it up. I’m playing Greensleeves and Fur Elis.
New Year’s Resolutions
It’s not exactly New Year’s anymore but I’ve been dying to talk about two common New Year’s resolutions and how they can be managed fairly easy.
Weight loss/health
I’m terrible at this one, tracking calories and dedicating myself to the gym is tremendous amount of work. For this I’ve been using DailyBurn. Not only is the website packed full of useful tools but it also has an iPhone app that allows you to enter your calorie information while you eat. They’ve even built a secondary iPhone app that allows you to scan your food. If you’re having trouble getting to the gym set up a calendar in Google Calendar and in the options you can have it email you when there is an appointment. This will allow you to nag yourself into going and keep you from saying “I forgot.”
Quotes:

“Be a first-rate version of yourself, not a second-rate version of somebody else” - Judy Garland
Project Management
I made this one more generic because the projects are going to be different for each person. I personally want to do better at tracking my ideas and then make it happen. For this I use two applications Evernote and ActionMethod. Evernote is the ultimate note taking system, it allows me to type up any thought that pops into my mind before I forget. ActionMethod is the ultimate Todo list application so that I can take those ideas and build an actionable list to make them happen. The best thing about them is that they all have web interfaces, iPhone apps, and can be installed on PC or Mac.
